Semi-classical black holes with large N re-scaling and information loss problem

چکیده
We consider semi-classical solutions of black holes and related re-scalings with large N massless fields to study the information loss problem. For a given semi-classical metric solution of a N = 1 universe, we can find another solution of a large N universe by using re-scaling. Here, after the re-scaling, any curvature quantity takes a sufficiently small value without changing its causal structure. A large number of massless fields is realized from large black holes in the brane world with many D3-branes and also from small black holes in the brane world. From re-scalings, we argue that black hole complementarity or violation of locality for semi-classical black holes cannot provide a fundamental resolution of the information loss problem. We claim that any fundamental resolution of the information loss problem should resolve the problem around singularity.

Quantum compositeness of gravity: black holes, AdS and inflation
Gravitational backgrounds, such as black holes, AdS, de Sitter and inflationary universes, should be viewed as composite of N soft constituent gravitons. It then follows that such systems are close to quantum criticality of graviton Bose-gas to Bose-liquid transition. Generic properties of the ordinary metric description, including geodesic motion or particlecreation in the background metric, e...
متن کاملReviews and Perspectives on Black Hole Complementarity *
If black hole complementarity is the correct idea to resolve the information loss problem, it should apply to general black holes. We suggest two models: Frolov, Markov, and Mukhanov’s regular black hole and a charged black hole. These models can work as counterexamples to black hole complementarity. It has been mentioned that a large number of massless fields is an important condition to justi...
متن کاملTunneling into fuzzball states
String theory suggests that black hole microstates are quantum, horizon sized ‘fuzzballs’, rather than smooth geometries with horizon. Radiation from fuzzballs can carry information and does not lead to information loss. But if we let a shell of matter collapse then it creates a horizon, and it seems that subsequent radiation will lead to information loss. We argue that the resolution to this p...

We review the different options for resolution of the black hole loss of information problem. We classify them first into radical options, which require a quantum theory of gravity which has large deviations from semi-classical physics on macroscopic scales, such as non-locality or endowing horizons with special properties not seen in the semi-classical approximation, and conservative options, ...
متن کاملBlack Hole Bound on the Number of Species and Quantum Gravity at LHC
In theories with a large number N of particle species, black hole physics imposes an upper bound on the mass of the species equal to MP lanck/ √ N . This bound suggests a novel solution to the hierarchy problem in which there are N ≈ 1032 gravitationally coupled species, for example 1032 copies of the Standard Model. The black hole bound forces them to be at the weak scale, hence providing a st...
